About the Business Software Program
The Business Software program consists of two classes: Multimedia and Microsoft Office.
The content of the Multimedia class includes such topics as digital graphics, digital video, web design and animation. We learn Photoshop, Premiere and Dreamweaver in depth while also using such programs as Flash, Illustrator and InDesign. The class meets on an every-other-day pattern. We use a Moodle site on the district Virtual Campus for classroom management.
The Microsoft Office class also meets every-other-day. We cover word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and desktop publishing. We learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Students are self-guided in the study of these topics but a Moodle site is used on Virtual Campus to assign deadlines for each chapter.
Students can take either class during any of the four class periods we offer at CDC and can take it on either the A day or the B day of the alternating day schedule. Both classes run simultaneously in the same classroom.
Certificates--Students earn a certificate for each class they complete if they meet the following criteria: 1) An 'A' or 'B' grade at the end of the class 2) No missing assignments.
